ROYAUME UNI 2008
UNA Exchange + 18
Tous
les chantiers sont complets sauf UNA 26 !
IMPORTANT INFORMATION :
The language for all projects is English. Volunteers should have a good working knowledge of
English, especially for the projects working with children
Wales (even in summer!) can sometimes be cold…and is almost
always a little wet J
It states this in the information sheets but we still have
volunteers turn up without appropriate clothes so please ask
your volunteers to make sure they have good warm clothing and
waterproofs. They will be much more comfortable!
All environmental projects will require good boots for working
in. Some projects may require boots with Steel toe caps.
These are boots with a metal bit over the toes so that if
something heavy drops on their foot nothing will be broken!
All
volunteers working with children will be asked for a certificate
of good conduct and a motivation letter. Places will not be
confirmed until these have been received. For further
explanation on the CGC please see the separate sheet.
UNA Exchange:
Through a range of volunteering across Wales and the World, UNA Exchange promotes and supports international understanding, cultural exchange and community development whilst at the same time enabling personal growth and development. UNA Exchange volunteers always work in partnership with local community groups.
The organisation was started in 1973 and grew out of the United Nations Association in Wales. We are an independent registered charity run by staff and many active volunteers. Along with other members of the Welsh Centre for International Affairs, we live in the Temple of Peace and Health in Cardiff. We are a non-governmental, non-religious organisation.
UNA Exchange is part of a worldwide network of similar organisations: the Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organisations. It is also an active member of Council for Wales of Voluntary Youth Services, Wales Council for Voluntary Action, Connect Cymru, VineUK (volunteer international network Exchange, UK) and the Co-ordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service (CCIVS, UNESCO).
