Introducing
the place:
History The construction of the castle politically goes
up again to the 861 to the epoch of Pandone the Rapacious, count
of
Capua
. In the
879 a
true fortitude was built turned to residence, that in following
years, under the dominion of the Norman and the Svevis, it
assumed the aspect of a castle. The structure was constituted
from four towers of sighting in the four cornerstone points, and
they represented a sure rampart against every type of attempt of
hostile aggression,.and in case of assault of the castle, the
last sure shelter was the tower, which with its
32 meters
high and a diameter of around
10 meters
, was provided of a ditch and subsequently inaccessible. The
tower had two accesses with drawbridge, and it was constituted
from three impending circular rooms. That inferior doesn't
apparently have accesses, and it surely had to serve as deposit
of water. The intermediary room, has only eyelet holes, while
the superior part is constituted by two circulars concentric
floors. That central is lower than the peripheral that
introduces the battlement, and is connected to the central one
with two staircases. From this castle they made to feel their
authority the Longobardi,
Norman
, Aragonese and Svevi.
