ESPAGNE 2008
COCAT 18-30 ans
COCAT is a Catalan non-governmental and non-profit
coordinating platform created to represent Catalonia’s
international workcamp organisations. CRUC, RAI, Fundació
Escolta Josep Carol, Fund.Pere Tarrés, Fundació Catalana de
l’Esplai, Ass.Cultural Envall Fosca are members of COCAT with
a network of Catalan entities that have been organising
international work-camps for the last two years.
The aims of COCAT:
à coordinate
international workcamps in
Catalonia
.
à develop workcamps and voluntary service as a tool for
personal, collective and community development, with the values
of interculturality, culture of peace and social justice and
equality
à become a bridge between associations organising
international workcamps in
Catalonia
, the local youngsters and the international volunteers,
organizations and networks.
à enhance the Catalan youth community identity and
culture
à promote the access to the project for people with less
opportunities and
background
COCAT AND WORKCAMPS
Our workcamps are non formal learning proposal for
young people coming from many different countries and cultures.
Workcamps projects are a living way to share culture, supporting
non profit world and developing local communities traditions,
promoting ideals
of solidarity and citizenship.
What we propose…be a volunteer!
Taking part to a suitable project to share with
international volunteers, you have many tasks:
à Approaching in a cooperative way, the experience of
camp-leader as a training proposal of facilitator between
the groups and local community
à Leisure activities to enjoy your free time, being in
contact with local community.
à Accommodation and food during the work camp period as
a way to be independent and share cultural traditions and
culture
à Accident and third part liability insurance.
Expectations… in action!
We really expect your motivation to take part into the
project …
à prepared to contribute with energy and action, to the
dailylife of the camp as a group
à To work about 30 hours per week.
à To respect cultural and social diversity of the other
participants and the locals.
à To bring your own illness insurance.
